Check Text ( C-45426r1_chk )
If the following registry values do not exist or are not configured as specified, this is a finding:

Registry Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Subkey: \SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsFirewall\DomainProfile\Logging\

Value Name: LogDroppedPackets
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1

Value Name: LogFilePath
Type: REG_SZ
Value: %systemroot%\domainfw.log

Value Name: LogFileSize
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 16384 (or greater)

Value Name: LogSuccessfulConnections
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1

Automated tools may search for the file name "domainfw.log". If the site uses a different name for the log file, the finding will need to be closed manually.

If the system is not a member of a domain, the Domain Profile requirements can be marked NA.

If a third-party firewall is used, verify a comparable setting has been implemented.

The Remote Endpoint STIG contains additional firewall requirements for systems used remotely.
Fix Text (F-41999r2_fix)
Configure the policy value for Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> Network Connections -> Windows Firewall -> Domain Profile "Windows Firewall: Allow logging" to "Enabled" with the following parameters checked
"Log dropped packets"
"Log successful connections"
"Log file path and name" set to "%systemroot%\domainfw.log"
"Size limit (KB)" set to "16384" (or greater)

Configure comparable settings if a third-party firewall is used.
